Outpatient counseling
Individual and family counseling for ages 4 and up, at our Reading and Pottsville offices, by telehealth, and in schools.
School-based outpatient therapy
Getting to an office is not the only way a student can receive outpatient counseling. CFSS provides school-based therapy at participating schools, and families or schools can call our Pottsville office to begin a referral and arrange an intake. The school list below helps you check whether CFSS currently serves your student's school.

A family member or school can call the Pottsville office with a referral. Staff can confirm whether CFSS serves the student's school and explain how to schedule an intake. The intake is the place to discuss the student's needs and what care may be appropriate; a place on the school list alone does not determine whether treatment will begin.
CFSS's clinical director provided this list in October 2026. If your student's school is listed, call Pottsville to ask about the current referral process. If it is not listed, the office can explain the other counseling options available through CFSS.
This page describes outpatient therapy provided at school. CFSS also provides Student Assistance Program liaison services to Schuylkill County schools, helping school teams identify barriers to a student's success. Intensive Behavioral Health Services, or IBHS, is a separate program with its own eligibility and assessment requirements; CFSS currently accepts new IBHS clients through Reading in Berks County.
You do not need to choose among these programs before calling. Tell the Pottsville staff whether you are seeking outpatient therapy at school or asking about SAP, and they can explain the appropriate referral route.
